Below are locations I have used for shoots in the past. This list is to provide inspiration and ideas. If you have a location in mind not listed, I would love to hear about it! Public parks, nature reserves, or even your own property can provide great backdrops.

Sugar Grove Nature Center (Funks Grove)

Located in Funks Grove, Sugar Grove Nature Center is just a short drive from Heyworth or Bloomington/Normal. The location provides walking trails, prairie grass and wild flowers, a covered bridge, old barns and silos, and creeks. Perfect backdrop for a nature or rustic look.

Heyworth Centennial Park (Heyworth)

Located just off 51, Heyworth Centennial Park is a great location if you want variety in your shoot. This location offers beautiful nature including a pond, walking trails, and many trees. It also has a small playground and baseball fields.

C.H. Moore Homestead (Clinton)

The Homestead in Clinton is a beautiful and unique location. This location hosts a historical home, part of an abandoned railroad track, a covered bridge, and grassy fields.

Rock Springs Conservation Area (Decatur)

Located on the edge of Decatur, Rock Springs offers beautiful nature backdrops. This conservation park hosts wooded areas, tall grasses, paved trails, and a pine tree forest. Great meeting place for those in South Central Illinois.
